The 13th CCNUSuper New Voice Final, on the stage of which ten shows were offered byfreshmen, kicked off on the
evening of October 29th at the Open-AirCinema, CCNU.
The contest fellinto three rounds, during each of which ten contestants took turns to sing forthe championship
on an illuminated circular stage. Scores were counted bycombining those given by the audience and those by
professional judges (tworadio hosts in Wuhan and another Ms. Cao Guanyu from School of Music). Aftertwo turns of
singing, Xie Yutong, Wang Yuqi and Lu Yu won the biggest applauseand stood out as the top three.
“I used to strengthenconfidence by singing out loud on the streets.” said Xie Yutong, the winner fromSchool of
Foreign Languages. The audiences were deeply impressed by herdistinctive voice and singing, Bad Romance, namely
one of the hottestsingles of Lady Gaga. And the final round witnessed her success with a Chinesesong Zouma
(Gallop on Horseback, Chen Li) Chen Li.
The second prizewinner Wang Yuqi, a girl from School of Music brought fresh air to the stage.She took as her
final song Huatiancuo (Leehom Wang) and it won her the samevotes as the champion from the audience
representatives. She also received aloud applause from the hearers, although getting nine points lower than
thoseof the top one.
Last came astudent from SFL, Lu Yu, the third prize winner. She sang to interpret threesongs in different styles
- Diamonds by Rihanna, Love Should be FrankXiaoxiao, and What Makes You Beautiful One Direction, all of
whichignited the fire of youth in the heart of people present.
This visual andauditory feast, organized by CCNU Communist Youth League Committee and WuhanPepsi-Cola Beverage
Co., Ltd., drew a full stop at around 10 p. m.
